Rick Hyland - Principal

As I journey through my sixth year as Principal of St. Joseph School, I wholeheartedly believe that our students, their families, and our faculty have truly become one body in Christ. It has been such a blessing to be a part of this community that teaches individuals to not only be incredible life-long learners, but also selfless servants of our community.

Being a father of two wonderful children, has brought so many blessings to my wife and I. I now see my role in this position in a completely different light, as my daughter and son are parts of a greater family known as Missoula Catholic Schools. Our school is moving into a new chapter in it's 137 year old history, and I am so proud that my children, my wife, and I can be a part of this new vision.

This year, we have selected a new theme for our students, teachers, and parents to follow. This theme is from the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. It reads;

"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."

The focus of this theme is to live each and every moment to the fullest, just as Christ did.

Lastly, I am excited to walk along this path with this incredible community, teaching Catholic values and principles, demanding academic excellence out of every individual, and providing an environment that fosters spiritual and intellectual growth.
